Asphalt Sealcoating in the Lehigh Valley, PA
Based in Walnutport, PA (Northampton County). Serving Northampton, Lehigh, Carbon, and Monroe Counties. Owner Dale meets every customer on site and oversees each project from written proposal to final rolling.
Sealcoating is the protective layer that stands between your asphalt and the things that destroy it: water, sun, motor oil, and road salt. A fresh sealcoat sheds water, blocks UV oxidation, and gives blacktop that dark, even finish. From Walnutport, DSP Paving sealcoats residential and commercial asphalt across Northampton, Lehigh, Carbon, and Monroe Counties.
Before any sealcoat goes down, we fill the cracks first. A sealer over open cracks just bridges them and peels away the next winter. Hot-applied crack fill bonds to the sides of the crack and flexes with the pavement so water stays out.
Sealcoating needs warm, dry weather to cure. We apply it when the air is roughly 50 degrees Fahrenheit and rising and the surface is dry. Trying to seal in cold or wet conditions wastes the product and the money.

Signs You Need Asphalt Sealcoating
Faded Gray Surface
Asphalt turns gray as UV dries out the binder. A faded surface is overdue for protection.
Surface Absorbs Water
If water soaks in instead of beading, the sealer is gone and water is reaching the base.
Hairline Cracks
Fine surface cracks are the first place water enters. Fill and seal before they widen.
After a Hard Winter
Salt and freeze-thaw wear the surface. Sealcoating each season helps the next winter do less damage.
How We Do It
Clean and Inspect
We clean the surface and Dale inspects for cracks, oil spots, and soft areas.
Crack Fill First
Hot-applied crack sealer is routed into open cracks so water cannot enter before we coat.
Mix and Apply
Sealer is mixed and applied in even coats when the weather is warm and dry.
Cure and Reopen
We let the sealer cure fully before traffic returns, on the timing Dale gives you.
Sealcoating needs roughly 50 degrees Fahrenheit and rising with dry weather and a dry surface. In the Lehigh Valley, that points to warm-season scheduling. Salt and freeze-thaw are exactly what sealcoating defends against, so seal before winter each cycle.
Family-Owned, Three Generations In
We fill cracks before we coat, so the sealer is not bridging open gaps.
We only seal in the right weather: warm, dry, and rising.
Owner Dale walks the surface with you and explains what it does and does not need.

What People Say
“Dale is a good communicator, keeping in touch with the client compared to my experiences with two other paving companies. He was able to do a paving job as well as seal a prior paving job. He started and completed the work the week after he gave us a price. His team's prep work was neat and precise before laying down the asphalt paving which looks really nice. I would hire him again, if I needed this kind of work done in the future.”
“They were amazing, excellent, really good! They were on time, took extra care and had respect for my home. The owner took extra time to discuss the job and answer my questions.”
